CELEBRITY HAIRSTYLING TRENDS BALAYAGE - OMBRE |
One of the hottest celebrity hairstyling trends right now is the Balayage, known by it’s common name, the two-tone hairstyle or as ombre, a moniker borrowed from the fashion term for a graduated color from dark to light. In layman’s terms, the hairstyle embraces the visible root, so instead of racing to the salon to touch up your roots, with the ombre hairstyle, we flaunt those roots. The hairstyling term, Balayage, which emerged in Paris in the 1970′s and is French for “to sweep” is a coloring technique which results in a more natural, sun-bleached look. The highlights are painted on the hair by hand and in a sweeping motion from the base to the top of the hair. The color is applied heavier at the tip to produce a hairstyle that looks like you’ve spent a decadent summer on the French Rivera…..and who doesn’t want that?? |
